Let me start of by saying YES I’m a mom of three wonderful boys and if I can do this, so can you!

I am a different person now that I am into pole fitness. I know who I used to be and I know who I am now and the present me is a happier, confident, and more beautiful version of the former me. Never could imagine that 10 foot brass poles starting at Aradia fitness and then my own fitness studio at Finesse studio for women a long side my partner and best friend Vesna Mitchell could ever make me feel this way. I think if someone said to me 6 years ago that I would be a pole fit instructor I would laugh but I defiantly knew that I didn’t want to be in anything else once I begin teaching pole fitness. It was when I started teaching that other women reported feeling the same changes, I decided that I didn’t just imagine the whole transformation. There’s something about pole that unlocks something within every single women that’s tried it.

As I started to slowly perfect dance moves and tricks, I honesty impressed myself as I do not come from a gymnastics or dance background but here I was showing off poles moves that I am passionately proud of.

When I see my student nailing a move they have been working on, I see them impressed by their own selves. It made me think about how little credit people can give themselves in their everyday lives, and it takes something unusual like pole fitness to remind them of how fabulous their bodies can feel no matter the age, sex or size. Let’s not kid ourselves pole dancing is vigorous and challenging but it is so much FUN. As I always say it’s the most fun you’ll ever have working out!

The very motion of pole dancing, the spinning and twirling and inverting allows us to feel unrestrained, free like a small child, joyous, even. Every adult knows how rare these feeling can be. To be able to tap into them at will, to reconnect to them anytime, is enough to hook anybody to pole dance for the rest of their life. There’s something so captivating about pole fitness. A lot of my students have talked about feeling like a new person.

My hope is that any man or woman reading this and wondering whether they should try pole fitness comes here and sees for themselves.

I find myself explaining what I do because of the stigma that surrounds pole dancing and let me tell you something there’s a difference between pole fitness and stripping. HUGE DIFFERENCE ACTUALLY! Pole fitness is a skill, an art, and requires a lot of strength and flexibility. Now that’s not the same as stripping is it??? lol I think we can all come to a place where we can respect and honor pole’s roots and really respect that every dancer should dance the way that they choose to.

Please join us at Spinbuddies Pole Studio and leave the stigma that surrounds it out the door so you can really feel what it is that everyone who tries pole fitness is so obsessed about. As for me there’s nothing in the world I would rather do than teach and continue to challenge my body to levels I would never imagine I could be.






I joined Spinbuddies first as a student to get into shape. I thought why not workout and have fun while doing it? It helped me to be more flexible and I learned so many things about myself. I enjoyed the classes so much that I wanted to learn to be an instructor. I recently turned 40 and I have 3 kids. As a full time business woman and Mom I love my classes. I am full of energy and even after a long day at work I still find the time for ME! We have to remind ourselves that WE deserve that.

I teach the beginner and beginner/intermediate classes on Thursdays. I love my girls and I love being able to teach people this exciting sport.

Spinbuddies is an escape and a place where I can be myself and have fun! The one thing I love most about Spinbuddies is the friendly, clean, positive happy environment. No one is perfect and these classes will teach you to love YOU for who you are. I learned that I don’t have a supermodels body but I have gained the confidence that makes me feel like a supermodel. I started at Spinbuddies while on maternity leave with my second son as a fun way to get back in shape and also to try to get out of “mom mode” and find my sexy side again. After the first class I was hooked!! The hour was full of laughs and a killer workout thanks to my amazing instructor Rose.

I have a always had a passion for fitness and nutrition which lead me in the direction of personal training. As busy as our lives can get, we all deserve to give ourselves 1 hour a day towards health and fitness and pole dancing is a great way to spend that hour. I love that this is not only an amazing full body workout but also so much fun.








I am beyond thrilled to be part of the Spinbuddies family of instructors! For 6 months prior to joining Spinbuddies as a student, fellow instructor Sarah was relentless in her appeals to get me to take a class. A little over a year ago, I finally caved and joined my first beginner class with superstar instructor, Anita. To say I was nervous would be a grand understatement. I had danced recreationally and competitively for 20 years prior to learning pole, but after struggling through 4 years with an undiagnosed thyroid condition, I had not only lost the majority of my strength, but my confidence and motivation.

With a clean bill of health, and a closet full of too tight clothes, I looked at pole class as a way of getting back in shape. I had no idea it would become the genuine passion, creative outlet, and safe haven that is has. It was a new beginning. Spinning did not come easy to me, and there were many times I questioned my abilities. But, with the dedication, compassion, support, and often much needed voice of reason from the instructors and fellow students, the Spinbuddies mentality quickly became a new way of life for me. I have never been more physically strong, and comfortable in my own skin as I am now.

Spinbuddies is place where fitness is not solely about the size of your waist, but about discovering your authentic self, and challenging the doubts and fears we all possess. Rose, and every instructor, has cultivated and nourished an environment of equality, inspiration, and friendship. I now always tell my students, “you leave judgement at the front door, if it jiggles, WE LIKE IT!” I feel truly blessed to be able to motivate and inspire new students in the same way I was from my very first lesson at Spinbuddies.



I first discovered my love of pole dancing when I began in Rose’s class in January 2009. At the time, I was finding it more and more difficult to find the motivation to go to the gym and I dreaded the experience every time. When I began to learn how to pole dance I realized I had found a fun and challenging way to get exercise and I couldn’t wait to go. Rose brought so much energy to her classes and refused to let anybody give up on themselves. She also made everybody feel so comfortable and brought out a confidence in all of her students that they had not known they were capable of.

Three years later, I am still a devoted pole dancer at Spinbuddies Pole Studio and I have discovered an incredible source of energy, determination, and willpower in myself that I never knew I had. I recently signed up for the annual membership and I now attend 2-3 times a week. The physical benefits of pole dancing are undeniable. It trains every muscle in your body, some of which you didn’t even know you had, and also gives you a fantastic cardiovascular workout. In addition to being my main source of fitness, pole dancing for me has also become incredibly therapeutic. Even on the most stressful of days, going to a class at Spinbuddies can change my mood in an instant and make me forget about everything else. I find myself looking forward to my classes and missing them terribly on days when I am not there.

One of the greatest parts about Spinbuddies, however, is the instructors. Rose recruits the most passionate and energetic people to teach at her studio, making her classes extremely enjoyable. Everybody who teaches pole dancing at Spinbuddies loves doing it and wants to share it with every person who walks through the door. I especially appreciate that they take the time to get to know each and every person in their classes and push them to reach their full potential. This is why I am officially a pole dancing addict and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon! Try it for yourself and see what I mean!



The reason I joined Spinbuddies is that I wanted to get back to my pre baby body. I knew going to the gym wasn’t going to be my cup of tea.  I wanted a place where I could feel comfortable along with putting the mommy role on hold.  As mothers we know it’s hard work, so it was important to have some downtime for myself.  While I was getting back into shape, I realized that I was gaining self confidence, my inner sexiness was coming out (which I never thought I had), I started to become flexible and gained upper body strength (which I never had) and while I was doing all these things, I was having FUN!! I know this might sound like a cliché but if I can do it, anyone can! Because of Spinbuddies, I’m not only a pole dancer but I’m a better me, a better mom and a better wife.




In 2013, I was following the blog of a fellow blogger in Australia who was sharing her pole fitness experiences. It was here where my thoughts were “I’d love to try that!”. However, I made excuses why I couldn’t. I figured that I was too old, that my husband would think I was silly and that there would be no place around for me to try it, without even looking. Then, one day on Facebook my daughters baton coach LIKED Spinbuddies Pole Studio so it came up in my news feed. Low and behold, there was Spinbuddies right in my area. Sharing my find with my fellow blogger, she encouraged me to pursue it because I wasn’t too old at all. I contacted Rose for some info and then sent a text message to my husband not sure what his reaction to my interest would be. A “Hell Yeah” was all I needed to read. I jumped all in doing classes twice a week until what was a bucket list item became a passion. I wanted more. So, I got a membership.

At 44 years old with a son 25 and a daughter 19, I am happy to say that I am currently more active than they are and that they are so proud of me. I’m also a runner with 4 half marathons under my belt. Being active has now helped me become Asthma free. Go Figure! With running covering my leg workout, Spinbuddies has helped me with my core and so much more – thanks to an awesome group of instructors. For the first time in my life, I can actually do the splits among many other amazing spins and tricks that I could never previously imagine myself doing. But, I didn’t know until I tried Spinbuddies without giving up and hope to be able to show others that they can do it too! Age really is just a number!




I got into pole dancing because of my best friend – she dragged me to a class, raving about the spins and tricks she could do! As an exercise enthusiast, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to try out a form of fitness that was new to me. I had heard about pole fitness before, but I never realized that trying it out would be as easy as putting on a pair of shorts and letting my hair down! I instantly fell in love with it. A year and a half later, I am still at Spinbuddies – just in a different role!

Pole fitness for me is as much about the mind as it is about the body. Every time I step through the studio door, I feel all the stress virtually evaporating! Yes, pole fitness is a workout – but it’s one of the BEST workouts you will ever have!! It is as enjoyable as it is challenging, and the best thing about it is you can match the pace of your learning to your endurance and dedication levels. I am super excited to share my passion for the athletic side of pole dancing, and hope to encourage more and more curious minds to join our growing community!
